  • Model: Huawei MicroWave IDU Optix RTN905

TheOptiXRTN 905a dopts an integrated chassis with 1U height. It belongs to Huawei RTN900 split IP microwave series that consist of an indoor unit (IDU) and an outdoor unit(ODU). The OptiX RTN 905 provides various types of interfaces to flexibly support multipleservices and one or two radio directions.

Basic functions and features of the IDU 905

Function and Feature

Description

Basic functions

Switching capacity

Supports 8 Gbit/s packet switching.

Microwave service capability

Provides one Integrated IP microwave channel.

System control and communication

  • Manages the IDU and ODU.

  • Collects information about performance events and alarms.

  • Communicates with the network management system (NMS) to enable NE control and management on the NMS.

Clock

Clock source

Traces the clock source and provides the system clock, service signal frame headers, and overhead signal frame headers for each unit.

The clock sources that can be traced include:

  • Microwave link clock

  • Synchronous Ethernet clock, which is not supported by small form-factor pluggable (SFP) electrical modules

Clock protection

  • Performs protection based on the clock source priority.

  • Protection based on the Synchronization Status Message (SSM) protocol

  • Protection based on the extended SSM protocol

NOTE:

Only microwave ports and Ethernet service ports support clock protection based on the standard SSM protocol and the extended SSM protocol.

Network management

Data communication network (DCN) channel

Outband DCN

Supports up to one data communications channel (DCC) (one IF port).

Inband DCN

Supported, with DCN bandwidths configurable

DCN management protocol

  • Huawei Embedded Control Channel (HWECC) protocol

  • IP protocol

  • L2 DCN

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)

Provides SNMP Get and Set functions for managing devices.

IF processing

Basic functions

  • Receives and transmits IF signals.

  • Provides management channels to the ODU.

  • Supplies –48 V power to the ODU.
